Job DescriptionStrategic Risk Management is responsible for developing and executing the organization's strategic risk management framework, including the risk assessment profile, quarterly management letter, strategic planning policy and risk identification programs. Leads the annual enterprise strategic planning risk assessment process. Partners with Enterprise Strategy to oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework. Lead projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Facilitate the identification of gaps and drive solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Ensures the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate. May influence policies and procedures to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure. Accountable for an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.
Key Responsibilities include: - Lead the annual risk assessment process for the Strategic Plan - Authoring quarterly management letters - Completing quarterly risk assessment profiles for the Bank's quantity, quality of risk management, and direction of strategic risk - Assessing strategic risk on Prism key changes and Issues - Oversight of policy, process and procedures that manage strategic risk
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
Preferred Skills/Experience - Strong understanding of U.S. Bank business models and risk management programs - Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills -Strong knowledge of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls - Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies - Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
