This individual contributor role will be responsible for the Risk Appetite Framework and enhancing the interconnection of all Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs.
The candidate will engage stakeholders from the business lines, support functions and risk categories on the execution and ongoing enhancements to the Risk Appetite Framework program. They will be considered the company’s subject matter expert on Risk Appetite. This includes ownership of the administration of the company and Business Line Risk Appetite Statements and driving Risk Appetite further into existing risk management programs and activities, including areas such as business line risk management, strategic planning, capital planning & stress testing, and concentration risk management.
The candidate will also be responsible for enhancing the interconnection of all of the ERM programs. This involves critical thinking and analysis to design how risk data and related technology can integrate with ERM’s role in existing processes, including Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, Risk Reporting, Strategic Planning, and Stress Testing. Collaboration and communication with ERM leadership, Risk Technology Solutions, business line stakeholders, and Risk Management & Compliance leadership will be an important element of this role.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of risk management framework and risk appetite best practices & methodologies and be able to effectively lead the activities related to the program. The candidate should be knowledgeable in the effective application of technology and risk data to supplement the program.
Candidates will leverage skills including relationship building, professional communication, and project management to ensure that U.S. Bank’s processes align with regulatory expectations and industry practices.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree 10 or more years of experience
Preferred Skills/Experience Expertise in Enterprise Risk Management, risk management frameworks & risk appetite Experience working for or with a large financial institution, with knowledge of relevant products and services Knowledge of applicable regulatory rules, guidance, or supervisory letters Demonstrated independence, teamwork and leadership skills Experience working with risk dashboards & risk data, including the understanding of how a risk data infrastructure can support interconnection of risk programs Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with multiple teams, and strong work ethic Work independently to drive results
