Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a self-motivated and knowledgeable Senior Corporate Counsel to actively handle a broad range of privacy issues across the bank's businesses.

Essential Functions

  • Help review and revise privacy policies, notices and practices

  • Advise business management teams on privacy requirements, risks and solutions for products and services

  • Partner with innovation project teams to identify and mitigate risks in emerging technologies

  • Provide legal advice to the privacy risk team and other key stakeholders across business lines

Basic Qualifications

  • Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate state bar association or other appropriate state attorney licensing authority

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Five to eight years of relevant experience

  • Experience practicing in the areas of privacy and data protection

  • A passion for privacy and motivation to stay ahead in this rapidly developing area

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Understanding of and interest in the broad set of legal issues arising out of digital, marketing and product development

  • Knowledge of the following areas related to financial services: GLBA, FCRA and CCPA/CPRA

  • Familiarity with some of the following areas: state data security and breach notification laws, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, federal and state marketing laws, global requirements such as Canada PIPEDA, EU GDPR, and privacy issues related to Vender Due Diligence, Contract Negotiations, Offshoring/Outsourcing, Data Ethics, Data Sharing, Data Analytics, Payment Platforms, Data Aggregators, Mergers & Acquisitions and Privacy by Design

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Strong commitment to client service

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $120,870.00 - $142,200.00 - $156,420.00
