Job Description

THE GROUP

The Technology Risk and Compliance Management team (#TechRCM) provides support to our business partners to maintain an agile, well-controlled environment that can rapidly and reliably deliver services across the enterprise. To achieve this, our Senior Tech Risk Manager is aligned to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), over Enterprise Engineering and Architecture, and they and must develop a deep understanding of the aligned leader’s area and partner to:

  • Consult the CTO and his leaders about the risk profile of their portfolios of processes and applications

  • Serve as a trusted risk advisor to the CTO and their leadership team

  • Identify and address risks before they impact objectives

  • Oversee and enable the CTO team’s compliance with existing and new requirements

  • Evaluate and consult on the risks associated with strategic priorities or major programs and projects

  • Provide actionable information to help prioritize risk-mitigation actions across the portfolio of platforms/applications managed by the leader

  • Simplify the existing control environment using process/control re-engineering and automation

  • Respond to unexpected events and findings

THE ROLE

This leader will play an integral role in the continued transformation of technology processes and controls related to the Enterprise Engineering and Architecture team. In this role, a candidate will drive early integration of risk considerations and efficiently and effectively deliver enabling capabilities across risk and compliance functions.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Lead 2 Risk Managers that cover Enterprise Architecture, IT Asset Management, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) at a more tactical level

  • Identify, monitor, and report on processes, risks, and controls within risk appetite

  • Influence risk-based outcomes within the CTO’s portfolios

  • Work closely with other Technology Risk leaders within the CRO organization to drive strategic outcomes for the good of the overall team

  • Consult on strategic initiatives that are defined by the product area owner; ensure risks are appropriately documented, reported, and escalated

  • Provide advisory and implementation support in the development of management responses to manage associated risk

  • Perform risk assessments to evaluate compliance with existing policies and procedures and to accurately identify risks and drive remediation processes to ensure that compliance and security gaps are addressed

  • Identify and implement process improvements across risk and compliance programs

  • Use data analysis to help aligned Program Leaders proactive and anticipatory approaches to risk management

  • Provide leadership on how to effectively achieve and sustain compliance with regulatory, industry and contractual obligations, as well as information security policies and practices

  • Support CTO team in demonstrating evidence of control effectiveness and identify and escalate control gaps in a timely manner

  • Deliver targeted and actionable risk reporting across various leadership levels

  • Serve as a functional liaison between the Business Line and second and third lines of defense

The role requires technical knowledge of:

  • Agile frameworks and product management practices

  • IT Asset Management lifecycle (monitor, identify, intake, track, oversee, report) encompassing all IT assets (hardware, software, open source, data)

  • Enterprise Architecture practices, principles, and governance mechanisms (e.g., The Open Group, TOGAF).

  • Application, product and systems development and the associated lifecycle

  • Understanding of the ecosystem of tools, data, hierarchy, relationships, and best practices supporting effective the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Practical information security principles relating to the development and maintenance of applications

  • Understanding of the ecosystem of tools, data, hierarchy, relationships, and best practices supporting effective IT asset management and IT configuration management

  • Effective tracking, management, and reporting of End of Life / End of Support technologies and components

  • Ability to identify and frame associated risks based on dependencies

  • Experience with applications in a public cloud, infrastructure as a service environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 12+ years of applicable experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with developing an effective control environment related to financial services or technology products and services

  • Understanding of applicable cyber security frameworks and requirements (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Payments Card Industry (PCI))

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environment

  • Demonstrate analytical and proactive problem-solving skills

  • Portray exceptional facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution skills

  • Applicable professional certifications (e.g. CRISC, ITIL, CISSP, CGEIT, etc.)

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $140,930.00 - $165,800.00 - $182,380.00
