U.S. Bank Senior Automation / Development Engineer - Atlanta, GA in ATLANTA, Georgia

U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Automation / Development Engineer (Responsive and Mobile) with end-to-end development and testing experience in building software products within an agile environment. This individual will be responsible for software development and test automation support of the bank’s new retail mobile app and online banking platform, which includes ensuring the quality of the final product through the build out of manual and automated tests.

The Senior Automation / Development Engineer (Responsive and Mobile) combines aspects of a traditional developer and tester into a single position responsible for the design and release of quality code in short, releasable, and iterative increments. This position will include some software development, automation test design, automated script creation, and coordination with other groups within the bank to deliver the overall solution. It is critical for this position to have not only the technical skills relative to development and testing, but strong collaboration and communication skills in order to support their agile scrum team.

Responsibilities include:

--Ensure integration and maintenance of test automation scripts into the CI/CD pipeline;

--Ensure consistency in process and documentation of test automation approach within and across teams;

--Support usage and analysis of new automation tools;

--Perform software coding tasks to support UI platforms as required (Web/Mobile);

--Develops, implements, and maintains automated test scripts;

--Use of cutting edge test automation tools for Web, Mobile, and Desktop applications (i.e. Selenium, Appium)

--Perform manual testing as required;

--Deep understanding of different test automation approaches (i.e. Keyword-driven, Data-driven, POM, BDD, Hybrid) and technology stacks (i.e. Java, C#/.NET, JavaScript, Python, jQuery, Angular JS,);

--Provide test execution reporting through tools such as ALM, JIRA;

--Sets the direction for and oversees the work of other testers (in future state)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Seven plus years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating complex processes

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Expert knowledge in IT/Software quality assurance

  • Expert knowledge with system/application testing tools and implementation

  • Strong understanding of Information Management

  • Experience in: Unit Testing (including automation and integration with CI systems) and Agile Software Development (typically Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)

  • Open, honest, collaborative and clear intra-team communication skills

  • Entirely self-directed, can solve business problems from inception to implementation– can solve business problems without explicit direction

  • Creative, flexible, and willing to continuously change, evolve, and improve software development processes

  • Strong understanding of system and network architecture

  • Ability to identify, resolve, and retest defects

  • Leads by example; providing support and mentoring as needed to ensure sufficient skill, knowledge and effectiveness in the development and testing process

  • Demonstrated technical leadership and direction

  • Demonstrated enterprise-level collaboration and system architecture design

  • Demonstrated mentorship of more junior resources in technical and business topics

  • Knowledge in CI/CD solutions, such as Jenkins and Maven

  • Ability to analyze features to deliver solutions that meet business needs

  • Ability to follow policy requirements related to documentation and other processes

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong time management skills and communication/leadership skills
