Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a Java background, to be part of a newly expanded sanctions transactions screening team. The candidate will be responsible for resource management, as well as ensuring quality delivery of products, be part of large project planning, as well as ensuring agile processes are followed.

The Software Engineer Manager will be responsible for leading the team to deliver Risk Management and Compliance applications. Together they will be responsible for engineering the right solutions Sanctions Transaction Screening products along with product owners, architects, software engineers and automation engineers. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience.
Essential Responsibilities: - Engineering Leader able to gain insight into business and operations with technical skills to support the development team - Responsible for collaborating and come up with architecture, integration solutions, designing and leading development teams - Be able to lead technical discussion with development leads and guide them on the right approach - Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices - Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards - Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation - Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement - Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, Engineering momentum, and Business value - Fosters a culture of empowerment, Engineering excellence, and growth within the team - Will ensure product stability, scalability, and resiliency for Transaction Screening products
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Five to six years of relevant technical experience - Three to four years of leading a software engineering team
