Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a proficient ETL Architect with data architecture experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.

  • Leads and consults on the design, development, and implementation of the architecture and metadata repository for extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) solutions.

  • Provides technical consulting to development teams during design and development for highly complex or critical projects. Identifies opportunities for new initiatives.

  • Recommends changes to increase scalability and robustness of ETL platforms and solutions.

  • Defines policies and best practices for ETL data manipulation functions.

  • Evaluates new tools and techniques and makes recommendations to improve real-time and batch data access, transformation and movement across heterogeneous technologies and platforms.

  • Determines organizational strategies for data integrity validation processes, optimizing data throughput/accessibility, restart ability, and error-handling for tools to deliver ETL solutions.

  • Management of the Information server environment by performance of these tasks: security compliance, user access, connectivity, product licensing, logs management, server monitoring, reporting, backup and recovery.

  • Monitor ETL job performance and trends and identify and address optimization opportunities within ETL environment in order to constantly improve data delivery times and service ‘up time’.

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 6 years experience with design, development, automation, and support of applications to extract, transform, and load data.

  • At least 9 years experience within a total information technology (IT) environment.

Experience should include:

  • 8 + years of experience in Installing, configuring DataStage.

  • 6 + years of experience with IBM Information server 8.x, 11.x

  • 3 + years of DataStage development experience.

  • Experience Configuring the IBM Information server suite including Information Analyzer, FastTrack, Business Glossary and Metadata Workbench.

  • Strong Oracle database experience including query tuning (9i, 10G & 11G,12, 19c)

  • Expert level UNIX shell scripting and intermediate UNIX administration experience.

  • DB2 Connect experience required.

  • Prior experience in Upgrading or Migrating Datastage jobs from older version to newer version.

  • Experienced with Data Stage Version Control.

  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to perform DataStage development as and when needed.

  • Willing to be on call supporting the ETL environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Financial sector or bankcard industry experience or familiarity with industry terminology.

  • Enterprise project development experience.

  • Technical certifications in relevant areas are a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with Autosys job development
