U.S. Bank Senior Infrastructure Architect in Salt Lake City, Utah

The Senior Infrastructure Architect will lead and deliver critical technology solutions to meet emerging digital and core capabilities for the USBank and Elavon enterprise. This role will drive and deliver high priority strategic technical initiatives, working closely with various line of business customers and partner IT teams in a collaborative, cross functional and fast-paced environment, ensuring the programs and projects are aligned with business objectives, timelines, enterprise standards and strategies and budget.

This Architect is a member of the solution delivery team and will be responsible for defining and executing technology solutions that meet our business’ goals. The role will require advanced architecture expertise to facilitate long-term supportable and reliable systems. This role will be required to apply knowledge and experience to understand business challenges and opportunities, while driving new and innovative approaches to resolving them using a combination of custom developed applications and 3rd party packages. Partner with our delivery teams to drive modern, cost effective implementations to meet critical external client-facing and internal needs that follow industry best practices. This person will interact with and must be able to influence other technical leads, managers, directors and partners throughout the organization.


Leads the definition of hardware platform and technologies established as corporate standards and to be used applied within specific initiatives.

Works with external vendors to define solutions that meet business objectives, create stable, supportable and flexible implementations and minimize cost of ownership to the enterprise.

Works with implementation and support teams in determining technological improvements to increase implementation efficiency.

Communicate effectively articulating technical decisions to business and technical partners

Responsible for maintaining solution integrity through the course of the project including controlling scope, managing solutions for change requests and clarifying solution capabilities during all delivery phases.

Develop and utilize reusable patterns, practices, and enterprise reference architectures that fit within the overall enterprise architectural blueprint.

Provide technical and professional leadership and coach more junior level Architects.


Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

-At least 1 year advanced server systems administration on one or multiple platforms. Server systems specification and design, implementation and support.

Required Skills/Experience

15 or more years of progressive hardware and software technical industry experience in areas of IT enterprise support, consulting services and engineering/development.

Experience with public/private/hybrid cloud technologies and solution implementations.

Experience with containerization, micro-services and orchestration.

Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management.

Strong understanding of information security and compliance best practices.

Prior experience in a large enterprise and/or financial institution is preferred.
