U.S. Bank Bankruptcy Paralegal in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri

Services and monitors credit card bankruptcies for the Retail Payment Solutions Collections and Recovery department. Bankruptcy Paralegal monitors cases throughout the lifecycle of the bankruptcy. This may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Filing, amending, or withdrawing claims on behalf of U.S. Bank National Association

  • Reviewing confirmed plans for treatment and repayment

  • Researching and responding to legal requests received from the Trustee or Debtor’s Attorney

  • Researching and gathering supporting documentation for Defensive Litigation referral

  • Reviewing Adversary Complaints and preparing legal summaries for Litigation review

Responsibilities may also include customer service duties such as answering incoming calls from customer’s, attorney’s or trustee’s. Performing research to determine if an account should be coded as bankrupt, and updating the status of the bankruptcy to include dismissal or discharge and case closure. Duties also include reviewing various reports to ensure case is accurately updated, balance is correct prior to filing proof of claim, claim is accepted, and case is properly closed. Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Two to five years of experience in legal documentation activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to perform research and analysis

  • Thorough knowledge of legal and regulatory issues
