U.S. Bank Commercial Portfolio Credit Risk Manager-Team Leader in PORTLAND, Oregon

The Portfolio Risk Management Team Leader leads the officers responsible for directing, monitoring, and coordinating risk management projects for assigned Wholesale/Corporate Banking portfolios. Additionally, the team develops, builds and maintains the analytical framework and support systems for credit administration, analysis and reporting processes related to the assigned portfolios. This position manages staff, provides coaching, and recommends: hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, and performance standards/reviews.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads the risk management strategies of the team’s assigned portfolios, including credit quality and portfolio management strategies

  • Leads credit policy update and review processes for designated portfolios

  • Identifies existing and emerging risks

  • Provides expertise and guidance regarding credit issues to assigned business lines

  • Provides training and tolls to the business lines regarding credit policy and other risk governance topics

  • Leads production of various monthly and quarterly portfolio analyses and reports

  • Works collaboratively with the business lines to manage risk

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with an emphasis on accounting, finance, and economics

  • Eight or more years of commercial credit analysis, portfolio management or commercial lending experience

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis and credit administration

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Five or more years of leadership/supervisory experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong project management and strategic planning skills

  • Advanced knowledge of risk management associated with various Wholesale/Corporate Banking credit segments; for example, large corporate and specialized industries, among others

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and reporting skills

  • Solid PC skills and computer support system knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Intermediate and advanced Excel skills
