U.S. Bank Team Lead - Loan Documentation Specialist - Collateral Support in OSHKOSH, Wisconsin

The Loan Documentation Specialist Lead is responsible for managing day-to-day work planning, implementation, and problem-solving ensuring that the team achieves productivity and service level goals. The role entails communicating deadlines and the company/business line goals to the team. The Loan Documentations Specialist Lead also motivates, mentors, and assesses team member performance.

Job Tasks:

  • Supports team manager and performs management duties in the absence of the manager

  • Manages staff scheduling

  • Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks

  • Assists management with the onboarding processes and new team member training

  • Answers team member questions and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance

  • Communicates deadlines and sets goals with team members

  • Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals

  • Conducts team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations

  • Generates and shares comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance

  • Running, analyzing, and providing leadership with reports as needed by department

  • Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer inquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Five to eight years of experience in loan/lease processing activities, or other relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of legal documents used to support applicable loan/lease processing

  • Ability to work with legal to solve complex documentation needs

  • Ability to apply critical thinking for all elements of loan documentation construction

  • Ability to master the bank’s documentation software

  • Comprehensive knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology and automated processing systems

  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s)

  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast paced, high production, professional environment

  • Strong organization skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
