U.S. Bank Sr. Appl Systems Administrator in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of purchased applications or application frameworks. Participates in the design configuration, problem diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of application systems and/or user group profiles. Validates system functionality after changes. Participates in testing and installing new software releases and application system upgrades. Analyzes, monitors, and fine-tunes the application system to achieve optimum performance levels. Works with internal infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve issues with hardware and software. Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation to ensure data integrity. Participates with application system problem resolution by working with application developers, vendors and internal infrastructure team members to troubleshoot.
• In a collaborative team environment, responsible for the design and implementation of network management systems in support of distributed routed infrastructure.
• Alert management configuration to include working with engineers and SME to ingest and normalize alerts from varied sources such as SNMP traps, Sylog messages, and email alerts.
• Implement automations for alert enrichment, integrations with mid level managers, and ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to define alert configuration of managed devices such as routers, switches, and servers.
• Resource to technical teams for core network and systems management expertise and direction.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Six or more years of experience in application development
5 years of demonstrated experience supporting management systems in large distributed networks. Management systems can include any of the following, IBM Tivoli Netcool, CA Spectrum, Solarwinds, HP Operations Manager, Nagios.
5 years scripting in either shell/perl, Java, Python.
Experience with database technologies and structured query development, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL
5 years experience in core network technologies and support for routed networks
Experience in progromatic interface to ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
LDAP, ITIL, Web experience.
Extensive knowledge of IT environment
Working knowledge of IT service, change and problem management
Extensive knowledge of IT systems management
Extensive knowledge of system software infrastructure, distribution and installation/support
Working knowledge of application delivery including release management
Working knowledge of computer operations
Working knowledge of hardware infrastructure
Strong problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
