U.S. Bank Strategic Initiatives Manager, CPS in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

The Strategic Initiatives Manager will develop and execute on a variety of inorganic and organic growth opportunities, from market research, to develop and presenting business cases, conducting outreach and sourcing qualification, and participating in deal execution and post-deal integration. The right candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams leading work streams related to emerging strategic issues and business strategies as well as undertake strategic reviews as requested by management.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare detailed business case analysis including market and company analysis, strategic fit, value proposition & financial models.

  • Balance facilitation, influence, and content contributions to help business leaders design and advance their strategies, ensuring alignment with the corporate strategy

  • Develop frameworks and perspectives to support the prioritization of corporate initiatives

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key players in the ecosystem in order to identify new corporate development and commercial opportunities.

  • Developing and growing a pipeline of potential deals, proactively developing ideas for growth

  • Build investment thesis for potential acquisition targets and / or strategic priorities and organize and conduct due diligence activities to validate

  • Provide regular visibility for the business line on transaction and pipeline activity

  • Leading teams for select deal execution and / or other strategic priorities

  • Creating and presenting complex concepts to executive level audiences

  • Industry research and knowledge of a variety of business models

  • Structure and negotiate deal terms


  • 10 yrs. experience within the financial services industry demonstrating consistent growth in responsibilities and accomplishments.

  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions including strong financial, analytical and valuation skills

  • Ability to develop a strategic perspective for target identification and evaluation

  • Demonstrated problem-solving /decision-making skills with the ability to understand a complex product portfolio and identify inorganic pathways to growth

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to development, document, and explain the strategy to diverse audiences, both technology and business, from executives to staff.

  • Ability to work across multiple cross functional teams with a variety of stakeholders to achieve objectives

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience.
