U.S. Bank Mergers & Acquisitions Program Manager - Minneapolis, MN in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

The Business Integration group, part of the U.S. Bank Strategic Financial Initiatives Organization, supports enterprise wide activities, including mergers and acquisitions. The initiatives we support are transforming how we do business. Reporting to the Director of Business Integration, the M&A Program Manager is responsible for implementing and managing program processes and creating and maintaining useful tools that enable U.S. Bank’s corporate development team, cross enterprise business partners, and integration teams to execute M&A transactions more effectively. Responsibilities fall into 3 categories: M&A program administration, transaction project management, and integration project oversight. Specific responsibilities include:

• Strategic thought partner to business units and executive leadership to develop M&A program approach to quickly deliver deal value and drive business results.

• Build-out of an enhanced end-to-end transaction process that aligns to applicable policies

• Maintain program tools and templates to track progress, processes and procedures

• Communicate program expectations to deal team participants and stakeholders

• Manage deal in-take and administration for deals of all types (e.g. legal entity, branch, asset or business)

• Mobilize due diligence teams, support due diligence activities, and coordinate pre-close integration planning

• Consolidate and track key pre-close issues and synergy program plan

• Support communications planning

• Support culture, talent, and change management plans

• Liaison with counterparty integration leadership

• Monitor & report the status of integration projects

• Close and archive projects


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or related areas

  • 10 or more years leading and managing initiatives including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, wind-downs, platform integrations and / or organizational change

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable knowledge of accounting/finance principles

  • Financial services industry experience and knowledge of banking organizations

-Demonstrated leadership experience driving results on large initiatives across business and functional groups

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team with unwavering optimism and demonstrating role-model behavior

  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate well with senior management and stakeholders and reach consensus on complex challenges

  • Ability to lead large web-based or in person meetings and facilitate resolution of differing views and under challenging circumstances

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and proactive in approach

  • Considerable knowledge of project and program management principles

  • Familiarity with Bank regulators and experience coordinating with regulators

  • MBA or CFA preferred
