U.S. Bank Application Systems Administrator 2 in LARGO, Florida

This position will be a hybrid role; Application support, with a strong focus on creation of desktop tools to improve efficiency of the team

Uses tools and established fact-finding procedures to evaluate network, application and data processing issues. Provides resolution or escalation.

Collects proprietary logs/reports to assist in root cause analysis of system/service events.

Interprets third-party documentation and protocol specifications as necessary

Provides feedback to business and development teams with a degree of technical competence to fully describe ongoing issues and potential solutions.

Maintains current knowledge of Elavon product/service offerings; payment industry standards; and customer integration methods

Participates in the on-call support rotation schedule (approx. 5 weeks per year)

Uses application development skills to build and maintain Windows based thin client application(s).


Basic Qualifications (we can’t edit this part)

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Three or more years of experience in application development or systems administration

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong command line experience (Linux, Unix, and Windows)

  • .Net or Windows thin client development skills

  • Basic SQL query skills.

  • Working knowledge of modern communications and file transfer protocols TCP/IP, SSH, SFTP, etc.

  • Strong documentation skills, MS Office and Visio (or other flowcharting) experience.

  • Working knowledge of IT service and change management

  • Working knowledge of software distribution and installation/support

  • Basic knowledge of application delivery including release management

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
