U.S. Bank Data Governance Analyst in EDINA, Minnesota


The Data Governance Analyst will support and assist in the development of data governance practices and processes within Consumer Banking Sales & Support (CBSS). The role will be responsible for meeting established goals of the program, adhering to EDG policy requirements. It is expected that the candidates will have a solid background in communication and problem solving and analysis skills, and self-starter and motivator. The position serves as a functional liaison between the EDG and Business Lines and Units regarding the critical EDG initiatives including but not limited to High-Risk Report, Authorized Data System (ADS) and Data Quality (DQ) certification process.

Essential Functions:

Perform the following functions as a member of the Data Governance team:

  • Support ongoing EDG policy implementation to enable compliance with regulator expectation at the BL level

  • Perform analysis and collaborate with business lines to help deliver clear guidance on policy requirements to allow for adoption by business lines. Ensure and support the business lines in their adoption of the policy and guidance. Review data-related policy and identify impact to CBSS program processes and documentation, updating accordingly (e.g., BLCE, BLQA, Tools, and Models)

  • Work with business line partners to identify high-risk reports, maintain report inventory and facilitate the development of business data flows, control documentation and High-Risk Report attestation. The Analyst ensures the business line is prepared for and completes the certification in Archer promptly

  • Build relationships and partner with constituents within CBSS, Operational Risk Management, Technology and Information Security

  • Participate in working groups to advice on recommendations for developing our enterprise data governance capabilities


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Knowledgeable understanding of Data Governance principles

  • Experience of creating and understanding data and process flows

  • Knowledgeable Risk/Control/Compliance

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, process facilitation and project management

  • Strong ability to manage time effectively and work well independently under minimal supervision

  • Ability to analyze and discuss complex topics

  • Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Knowledgeable of Archer and Power Designer or Visio

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
