Elavon is seeking Jr. Performance Test Engineer to work with stakeholders to develop comprehensive performance test plans

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understands the requirements for performance of all applications in scope and makes recommendations for capacity planning to infrastructure teams.

  • Configures and maintains test environments.

  • Works with the application and infrastructure teams to ensure that sufficient performance monitoring is in place in the testing environments.

  • Creates, executes and maintains performance testing scripts.

  • Documents the success and failure of test cases for metrics gathering and reporting.

  • Analyzes the load and performance test results and creates test reports.

  • Tests web applications and mobile device applications thoroughly.

  • Writes up defects with applicable supporting evidence of defect.

  • Collaborates with developers, automation and performance testers, and other stakeholders on projects.

  • Assists in evaluating and recommending changes to performance testing tools as required.

  • Actively participates in team discussions.

  • Participates in design workshops, sprint planning, demonstrations and retrospectives.

  • Researches and resolves issues.

  • Wears the automation developer hat when needed


Ability to wear the hat of an automation tester when needed is highly preferred.


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field; OR equivalent, relevant work experience.

  • Team oriented individual that works well with others.

  • Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug test scripts.

  • Java knowledge and programming skills.

  • At least 2 years of programming experience

  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and best practices

  • Experience configuring and maintaining test environments

  • Experience with the writing of SQL queries

  • Experience working with Linux/Unix OS and knowledge of commands

  • Experience with XML and Web Services

  • Experience with at least one scripting language

  • Previous experience with performance tools such as but not limited to LoadUI, Loadrunner, or In-house performance tools

  • Agile (e.g. SCRUM) software development certifications and/or equivalent experience.
