The WebFocus Developer will execute true end-to-end development of complex reports for web-based applications in an Agile lifecycle. As a member of an Agile team, the Developer will partner with key technical and business stakeholders to refine the product vision, estimate and design a solution, create, purchase, or customize the requisite software to create the solution. The Developer will also help ensure the quality of the final product through automated unit and functional UI tests, and support the new software as it is moved to production.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
At least five years of experience with developing and implementing applications
5 years of experience supporting and developing Focus/WebFOCUS applications with expert knowledge in the FOCUS language.
Strong experience using Dialog Manager for execution flow control & replacement variables (amper) in code
Strong experience developing WebFocus reports, dashboards and portals using App Studio
Strong experience with using SQL (passthru) and WebFOCUS together for querying data and for data manipulation/transformation
Strong experience with WebFOCUS debugging techniques - generating code traces, SQL traces and/or reviewing application logs
Experience converting SQL or other reporting tool scripting languages into equivalent WebFOCUS code
Experience with data adapters, generating synonyms, setting up connections to remote reporting servers
Understands differences and best uses of various report output formats (PDF, HTML, Excel, CSV, etc.)
Familiarity with App Studio's HTML Canvas and Report Canvas
Familiarity with the Reporting Server Console, Command Console & Administrator Console
Familiarity with graph/chart types and their incorporation into a report
Strong analytic skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze and interpret results
Experience supporting relational database structures such as SQL Server or DB2.
Experience with compound reports
Experience with Managed Reporting Environment (MRE) and self-service application environments
Experience in Agile methodologies.
Experience in the Financial Industry
