U.S. Bank VP Market Experience and Merchandising in Chicago, Illinois

U.S. Bank is currently seeking a Vice President of Market Experience and Merchandising, who will be responsible for creating marketing strategies that activate connected, cohesive, and consistent marketing experiences and merchandising in U.S. Bank markets and within U.S. Bank physical assets. This leader will drive brand reputation and customer consideration with experience, point-of-purchase, and merchandising materials. This role will partner closely with the SVP of Marketing, Consumer Bank leaders, Branch leaders and markets, corporate strategy teams, omni teams, and product teams to translate priority business objectives into market and branch strategies that will enable U.S. Bank to meet bottom-line growth goals while addressing market data and customer needs.

The Vice President of Marketing Experience and Merchandising will help lead and manage a team of Marketing Directors/Managers who are responsible for developing, planning, and executing market and branch-level initiatives and projects. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Drives marketing strategies at the enterprise, market/branch, and initiative levels to achieve defined objectives;

  • Builds marketing initiatives and plans in-service of the customer;

  • Leads a team of marketing directors and managers;

  • Collaborates with the SVP, branch network, product teams, lines of business, and corporate strategy on marketing and market initiatives;

  • Effectively and holistically uses customer insights, competitive intelligence, and data/analytics to translate business goals into marketing strategies;

  • Develops processes and best practices to enhance the value of marketing by market;

  • Ensures marketing best practices are implemented at the enterprise and branch levels;

  • Evaluates and assesses all market and branch materials to ensure connectivity, consistency, and customer focus;

  • Manages production, delivery, communication, and compliance of signage, collateral, and promotional elements;

  • Connects the customer experience between physical, retail, and digital;

  • Cultivates relationships with key marketing and business leaders throughout the organization; and

  • Fosters an environment of problem solving, collaboration, creativity, support, coaching, consulting, and partnership.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Ten-plus years of Marketing, Communications, Brand, or Retail Experience

  • Five-plus years of leadership/people management experience

  • Understanding, interest, and expertise in the financial services industry

  • Proven track record in problem solving and strategic thinking

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, diplomacy, and ability to gain buy-in from diverse teams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience leveraging customer insights and market data to drive decisions

  • Proven experience with integrated marketing programs

  • Experience leveraging digital channels to enhance the customer experience and drive marketing effectiveness

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

  • Ten-plus years of Marketing, Communications, or Retail experience

  • Eight-plus years of people management experience

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Strategy, or related field strongly preferred
