As an experienced Distinguished Engineer, on our Transformation Central Team, your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. You will execute true end-to-end development and testing of software products in an agile lifecycle. Partnering with key technical and business stakeholders, the Distinguished Engineer will help refine the product vision, estimate and design a solution, create, or customize the requisite infrastructure and software to create the solution, ensure the quality of the product through manual and automated tests. They will be able to rapidly build prototypes to help evaluate and deliver business value.
The Distinguished Engineer is a generalist that combines aspects of a traditional developer and tester into a single position responsible for the design and release of quality code in short, releasable, and iterative increments. It is critical for this position to have not only the technical skills relative to development and testing, but strong collaboration and communication skills in order to support the entire agile scrum team. You will guide other engineers through empathy, as well as the ability to demonstrate and prototype sound technical solutions rapidly that add business value.

They represent the senior technical experts within the organization and have a strong track record of growing and influencing others. This is an executive-level individual contributor role requiring excellent acumen in using technical prowess and ingenuity when representing U.S. Bank’s software engineering capabilities in internal and external forums.
The ideal candidate will have previously served in a leadership capacity in the use of software and product engineering. He/She will play a diverse and far-reaching role in the organization, providing leadership and influencing adoption of technical solutions, strategies and design patterns across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in business, MIS, engineering,computer science, mathematics, any science, or equivalent work experience
10 or more years of experience in deliveringsoftware-based solutions
Ability to influence a cross functional team toobtain desired results, initiate new efforts through iterative design and drivethe engineering teams to completion.
Strong communication/leadership skills
Extensive knowledge in modeling and applicationdesign and architecture
Extensive programming knowledge
Knowledge in IT/Software quality assurance,system testing tools and system/application testing and implementation
Experience in multiple types of testing,including but not limited to Unit, Functional, Performance, End toEnd (including automation and integration with CI systems) and Agile SoftwareDevelopment (typically Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
