U.S. Bank Regional Market Credit Approver in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
This is a Regional Market Credit Approver position within our Commercial Real Estate Credit Risk Management Team with specific credit approval responsibility for our CRE team in Boston which office covers the Northeast including New York. There are opportunities for growth and advancement. The primary role of this individual is to work closely with relationship managers, business line managers and senior credit approvers to develop and maintain individual credit relationships and loan portfolios that meet or exceed the Bank’s credit quality/risk management objectives while helping the business line achieve its profitability and growth goals. Position reports to CRE Senior Credit Officer who covers the Upper Midwest and Northeast Regions.
In this role you will be responsible for approving multi-million dollar loans to real estate developers and investors, including large construction loans, syndicated loans as agent bank and unsecured loans to REITS and funds. Additionally, you will work with the business line in structuring credits and the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio. The assigned portfolio will be over $3.5 billion and clients are both regional and national investors/developers. The position will include travel to various markets 2-3 times per year.
Bachelor's or Master's degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance and real estate.
5 or more years in a credit approval and risk management role for commercial real estate
15 or more years of experience in credit analysis, structuring and portfolio risk management.
Considerable knowledge of credit policies, credit analysis, procedures and philosophy
Strong analytical and structuring skills in relation to evaluating regional and national commercial real estate client and project cash flow, valuation and risk.
Demonstrated analytical and risk analysis skills
Advanced knowledge of organization, business practices, business philosophy, and ethics
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated skills in partnering and relationship building across business lines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Well versed with loan structuring, commercial real estate valuation, sponsorship/guarantor analysis, and market knowledge of the Northeast.
