Elavon is currently seeking a Product Support Engineer, who will work closely with other Support & Technical staff and key business users across the organization to provide application support using a variety of technologies. The following are additional responsibilities:

  • Provides support for applications on a daily basis, including, but may not be limited to, reviewing problems reported, prioritizing and researching these problems, determining the solutions, and resolving them;

  • Documents processes and procedures required for support;

  • Learns new applications and functionalities as required;

  • Participates in special projects, usually involving tasks related to product development;

  • Travels as necessary but is minimal (expected to be less than 5%);

  • Works with confidential data and exercises utmost caution to keep data safe and secure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Five to eight years of experience in computer technology applications and analysis

  • Three to five years of experience in project management and leadership

  • 1-2 years of experience with developing or supporting applications, including:

  • JAVA/J2EE (servlet, jsp, java beans) expertise (two-plus years of dedicated application support or development experience)

  • JBOSS EAP expertise (one-plus year(s) of application support or development experience)

  • Knowledge of and experience with basic SQL (one-plus year(s) of application support or development experience using this component)

  • Working knowledge of UNIX commands and basic shell scripting (one-plus year(s) of application support experience on this OS platform)

  • Javascript (one-plus year(s) of application support or development experience)

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff is a key priority in this role

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and/or stressful situations

  • Self-motivation and knows when to seek guidance

  • Flexibility and ability to change priorities quickly, as well as the capacity to handle multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of XML

  • Knowledge of Toad

  • Knowledge of Databases

  • Knowledge of Unix
