U.S. Bank Elavon Compliance Risk Manager-This position is office based in Atlanta, Georgia or Minneapolis, Minnesota in ATLANTA, Georgia

This position is office based in Atlanta, Georgia or Minneapolis, Minnesota. The option to work from home or remotely is not available.

We are seeking a Payment Services Compliance Risk Manager to join the Payment Services Chief Risk Office Acquiring Risk team. The role will oversee and manage a team dedicated to regulatory change and business change compliance risk for the Elavon line of business. The role will serve as a functional liaison between the line of business and the lines of defense and will actively participate in regulatory change management projects and activities, identify gaps and inform solutions, and actively identify, respond to and escalate risks.The Compliance Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring key compliance programs are incorporated and executed for Elavon Merchant Services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the Payment Services Chief Risk Office and Corporate Compliance to create, implement, maintain, review, and oversee an effective compliance risk management framework. Serves as a credible challenge in the First Line of Defense.

  • Administering compliance policies and procedures; supporting the Compliance Materials Review and Approval program.

  • Partnering with other Chief Risk Office teams and Elavon business units to assess and monitor compliance risk related to business change.

  • Facilitating business line compliance requests, and support of enterprise regulatory change management initiatives.

  • Enhancing business partnerships and provide leadership on regulatory compliance matters by providing accurate and timely advice and direction.

  • The day-to-day oversight of compliance programs, in collaboration with Corporate Compliance and the business units, to ensure timely assessment and implementation of all required changes.

  • Supporting the identification of gaps within Elavon and facilitate resolution within the business lines.

  • Participating in Risk Committees, with outside regulators, governing bodies and third party partners.

  • Supervisory functions include providing leadership and direction while coaching, training and providing work direction and feedback, and mentoring the team members; evaluating employee performance and making salary recommendations, performing all aspects of the staffing process including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff to ensure appropriate hiring practices and maintaining staffing levels.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management


  • Five or more years of direct supervisory experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and

regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business,

  • Expert knowledge of the business line’s operations, products/services,

systems, and associated risks/controls.

  • Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies,

  • Ability to understand and interpret regulations/regulatory guidance and apply

such in a practical manner within an operational environment.

  • Possesses a sense of urgency, pro-activeness, and ownership and proficient

at managing multiple team/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills of processes, projects and

people.The ability to operate in a matrixed organization and build

relationships across business lines is a must.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, analytical,

problem-solving and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
